About

Clothing that fights the Stigma!

When you buy from Molly & Rua, you are saying NO! to the stigma and discrimination of individuals facing mental health challenges

Our handmade clothing is bold, natural and comfy beyond belief – and 5% of sales (not just profits) are donated to helping people impacted by mental illness.

I truly believe as a community we can break free from the stigma, from the feelings of shame and hopelessness that people endure going through tough times on their own.

When you buy from Molly & Rua you support this work.  For that you are an absolute ROCK STAR!  Thank you!

Where has that 5% gone so far?

Liam Garrat & Mental Health Foundation – $67.75

On September 25, 2018 Molly & Rua made a small donation to Liam and his inspiring work to bring awareness to those suffering in silence of mental illness.  This donation went to his kick starter campaign to raise funds for October 6 when he will be running a 10K race to raise funds for Mental Health Foundation’s Supersonic race.  We are proud to support the incredible work he does day in and day out in sharing his own raw and brave story and especially in being able to raise funds for such a great cause.

Rising Above – $2,040

On August 18, 2018 Jesika provided an in-depth mentorship training course to 24 volunteers.  In the course volunteers learned tools and strategies to support individuals who have graduated from the Rising Above detox program in their new mentorship program.  Rising Above Ministries is an incredible organization in Grande Prairie, Alberta that provides a 3 month residential program to men and women needing support abstaining from alcohol and substances long term.

Selections Career Support Services – Board Member

With my past experience working in the inner city here in Edmonton, Alberta and Molly & Rua’s current passion to end the mental health stigma it only seemed fitting to volunteer as a board member for this incredible cause.

Hopelessness and no plan for the future can be a trigger for mental illness among everyone.  But individuals who have barriers to finding and attaining employment can really struggle to fit into our complicated and unwelcoming world.

Selections empowers individuals with disabilities through developing employment and volunteer opportunities and is dedicated to the community through supporting an inclusive workforce.  Not only do they support people in finding employment, but also ongoing support for as long as they need – which is unique to Selections.

Little Bit about Me

Hey there!  I am Jesika Lefebvre, designer and maker behind all our apparel.

I started Molly & Rua Inc. in 2017 after working in Edmonton’s inner city with individuals experiencing chronic homelessness with layers of mental illness and barriers.  I truly believe as a community we can break free from the stigma, from the feelings of shame and hopelessness that people endure going through tough times on their own.
